The story of The Butcher Shop Beer Garden & Grill began with the purchase of an old-fashioned butcher shop in West Palm Beach, FL, named Charlie’s, known for its timeless recipes and commitment to quality meats. Igor Niznik, then a recent transplant to South Florida from New York and of Eastern European descent, quickly took to the creative challenges and demands of operating the shop, infusing his own flavor into the gourmet market, while his eldest son, Fred, was still living in New York, working in the restaurant industry and frequenting beer gardens.

When Fred relocated to the Miami area and discovered the then-burgeoning Wynwood Arts District, he immediately fell in love. Reminiscent of New York, bursting with art, culture, and beauty among the backdrop of an urban setting, he saw an opportunity. After discussing the idea of opening a beer garden with his father, Igor posed the question:

The Butcher Shop Beer Garden & Grill opened its doors in 2013 as one of the first restaurants along the southern border of Wynwood, and a second location that saw the conversion of Charlie’s into the full-service concept celebrated its grand opening a few short years later in 2016.

Both the Wynwood and West Palm Beach locations boast several distinct dining areas easily converted into beautiful event spaces. Each has hosted events of a wide variety over the years, from corporate parties to wedding receptions; in addition to catering to its local clientele for lunch, dinner, weekday happy hour, weekend brunch and live music events throughout the week.

In addition to live entertainment and events, each of the full-service restaurants are equipped with an outdoor beer garden and a full-service retail butcher.

The Butcher Shop is the evolution of an old-fashioned beer garden, complete with a full-service retail butcher, casual dining experience and live entertainment.

Our meats are prepared in house, which allows us to ensure the quality and integrity of our product.

We cut our own steaks, make our own sausages & pierogis, grind our own burgers and smoke all of our meats in house
